If you have Flash software and are designing and developing a website, it’s probably a good idea to develop and embed a Flash video. In Flash software, you design and save the design in .fla file extension, but, when you are ready to export and embed, you’ll need to export and embed the .swf file extension.
So, when we visit cnn.com or si.com or whatever other big website you surf, you’ll encounter flash all over the place, right? Ads pay to keep the website alive for you and I to enjoy, and while it’s much better than watching TV without Tivo, it’s still kind of annoying.
Here are better uses of leveraging flash in your website:
A better use of Flash is a a movie with buttons included, embedded within the movie, so the end user has the control over his/her experience. Nothing is more frustrating than a movie that just won’t end or that we can’t stop.
And because important, relevant content in Flash isn’t picked up and indexed on the search engines, a website designed solely in Flash isn’t the best idea. A Flash movie embedded within an html site is a better example.
An Emerging Trend: OK, so I am a minimalist, and I am a big fan of clean and crisp code and websites, so, this final tip makes sense, coming from my blog: flash can be really simple and really powerful. The best, recent example was a bee flying across a screen, leaving in its wake a nice little dotted pattern, that lingered in the air before vanishing softly. Now, that’s nice.
